This is a four weeks online certificate course.

The Certificate course “BIDE Diabetes Care Update” (BDCU) is the leading foundation course aimed to increase the number of qualified, trained family physicians in diabetes care. This course is designed to give the practical knowledge and skills necessary to provide an effective and efficient service for people with diabetes.

Sensitive to the constraints on busy GPs, the course aims to link theory directly with practice. The course provides guidelines of diabetic patient care for primary-care physicians.

The course philosophy emphasises the needs and concerns of people with diabetes, those who care for them and in particular, the importance of empowering the person with diabetes to manage his/her own health care.
