INTRODUCTION

Baqai Institute of Diabetology and Endocrinology (BIDE) stands as a pioneer in Diabetes Education in Pakistan, offering a four-week Certificate Course on Diabetes tailored for nurses. The certification is granted by BMU Baqai Medical University, and the course is conducted in collaboration with BIDE and BCON.

AIM OF CERTIFICATE COURSE

To equip nursing professionals with the necessary skills for delivering effective diabetes education to individuals and their families, aligning with both local requirements and international standards. The four-week certificate course aims to empower nurses in supporting individuals with diabetes, fostering a comprehensive understanding of diabetes care.

To develop the skill of history taking and head-to-toe assessment

a. For confirmation of diagnosis: OGTT

b. For assessment of the status of diabetes/prognosis of treatment D-Profile

Course Overview:

The first-ever course of its kind in Pakistan
Four-week lectures will be conducted online by BIDE and BCON faculty
Hands-on Skills will be delivered onsite at BCON

Course Outline:

The four-week certificate course is structured with four modules, wherein the lectures for each module will be delivered online. Following the completion of all modules, hands-on skill sessions and clinical training will be provided.
